Liya Petrova appointed Artist-in-Residence with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
23/4/2026
We are delighted to announce that violinist Liya Petrova has been appointed Artist-in-Residence with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for the 2026/27 season. She will perform a range of concerts as part of her residency, including Sibelius’ Violin Concerto under Conductor-in-residence Adam Hickox on 8 October, Beethoven’s Violin Concerto under Delyana Lazarova on 29 April, and Stravinsky’s Violin Concerto under Kirill Karabits 24 June, all concerts taking place at London’s Cadogan Hall.
The appointment builds on the close and much-valued relationship Liya has developed with the orchestra in recent years. Other highlights of the 26/27 season include performances with BBC Scottish National Symphony, Hamburger Symphoniker and a return to BBC National Orchestra of Wales, following a successful concert at the BBC Proms last year.
