JOE HISAISHI ANNOUNCES PARIS PHILHARMONIE, LA PHILHARMONIC RESIDENCIES; NEW TOURS & WORKS
31/3/2026
Joe Hisaishi cements his status as one of the most significant musical figures of today, following this week’s announcement of his role as Compositeur in Résonance (Composer in Association) with the Paris Philharmonie for two seasons. This relationship sees performances of his works with the Orchestre de Paris (OdP), across his many disciplines from orchestral, to contemporary chamber works to film music – as well as a landmark tour to Singapore.
Hisaishi has also already been announced at Philadelphia Orchestra’s Composer in Residence for two seasons, and as Composer in Focus with the Los Angeles Philharmonic for the 2026 season, which highlights his multiple facets with concerts at the Hollywood Bowl and The Ford.
WORLD DREAM TOUR with world class orchestras
Hisaishi’s tour with OdP to Singapore will be the first major European/US orchestra tour to the country since COVID – and OdP’s first tour to Singapore — where Hisaishi will perform 2 nights at the Esplanade on 12 and 13 November, toured by HarrisonParrott.
Finalising his tenure as Composer in Association with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, this year also sees Music Director Vasily Petrenko leads the London Premiere of Hisaishi’s The Border Concerto for 3 Horns and Orchestra, and a tour to prestigious venues including Berlin Philharmonie, KKL Luzern, Munich Isarphilharmonie, Stuttgart Liederhalle, and Hamburg Elbphilharmonie.
CLASSICAL HIGHLIGHTS and NEW WORKS
In May 2026, Hisaishi will be debuting his latest work, Concerto for Orchestra, with the National Symphony Orchestra, with future performances and co-commissions from Carnegie Hall, Toronto, San Francisco and Colorado symphonies, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, JH Foundation and others. He will also make his return to Chicago Symphony, and recently made his Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra debut in a programme of his own music and Debussy’s La Mer.
Next season, 2026/27, sees his debut performances with Colorado Symphony, Houston Symphony, and Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, as well as returns to Orchestre de Paris, Philadelphia Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, and many more to be announced.
The 26/27 season will also see the debut performances of his new Piano Concerto with announced partners including Philadelphia Orchestra and Toronto and Houston Symphonies, premiered by Alice Sara Ott.
