Nicolas Altstaedt steps in with London Philharmonic Orchestra
28/11/2025
Nicolas Altstaedt joins London Philharmonic Orchestra at short notice on 30 November at the Royal Festival Hall for a concert conducted by Edward Gardner.
Altstaedt will perform Bloch’s Schelomo, a work that ‘evokes a sumptuous vision of a Biblical past and a longed-for future’. Tickets are available via the LPO and Southbank Centre websites.
This marks Altstaedt’s second appearance with the orchestra this month. On 12 November, he performed Walton’s Cello Concerto to great acclaim, with Bachtrack praising his “impeccable timing and passion.”
Altstaedt also returns to London to join The Carice Singers at Kings Place on 13 December in An Ode to Our Planet, a bold programme that interlaces Bach’s introspective Cello Suites with new works by Josephine Stephenson and Raquel García-Tomás. Tickets for the Kings Place concert are available here.
