Nicolas Altstaedt returns to North America
17/11/2025
First, Altstaedt presents a recital tour with his long-term collaborator, lutenist Thomas Dunford, bringing their acclaimed partnership to audiences across Canada and the United States. Their programme spans music from the Baroque to the present day, featuring two of J. S. Bach’s Cello Suites alongside works by Marin Marais, Robert de Visée, Henri Duparc, and Arvo Pärt. Performances include appearances at such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, New York (18 November) and the Perelman Theater, Philadelphia (20 November).
Following the tour, Altstaedt returns to the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal to perform Elgar’s Cello Concerto, joining conductor Anja Bihlmaier for concerts at the Maison Symphonique de Montréal on 26 and 27 November.
This marks Altstaedt’s second collaboration with the leading orchestra, following his highly successful debut in August 2023 under Rafael Payare as part of the Virée Classique festival.
