Tabita Berglund returns to the US this week to make her debut with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra in two concerts at Powell Hall on 24 and 25 October. Joined by soloist Augustin Hadelich for Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.2, she also conducts Norwegian compatriot Sæverud’s The Ballad of Revolt and concludes the programme with Sibelius’ Symphony No.2. Tabita then journeys on to Michigan to commence the second season of her Principal Guest tenure of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra; with concerts on 30 and 31 October as well as 1 November at Orchestra Hall, she leads the players in Mozart’s Overture to Le nozze di Figaro, Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht and Brahms’ Piano Concerto No.1 with soloist Kirill Gerstein.
