Tabita Berglund makes double Berlin debut this autumn
18/9/2025
Tabita Berglund’s successful start to the season continues this month with her Berlin debut, conducting the Staatskapelle Berlin for the first time on 21 September at the Pierre Boulez Saal. The repertoire includes Arvo Pärt’s Fratres, Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.23 – with fellow HP artist Fabian Müller – Dobrinka Tabakova’s Fantasy Homage to Schubert and Schubert’s Symphony No.8 “Unfinished”.
Tabita returns to Berlin the following month to make her debut with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin at the Philharmonie Berlin on 12 October. The programme opens with Anna Thorvaldsdottir’s Metacosmos, followed by Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No.1 – which sees Tabita reunite with regular collaborator and fellow HP artist Truls Mørk. James Kimo Williams’ Fanfare for Life opens the second half, with Grieg’s Peer Gynt Overture and Suites 2 & 1 concluding the performance. The concert is recorded by DLF Kultur for future relay.
