And it’s farewell to Ian Stones…
18/6/2025
After 30 years at the heart of HarrisonParrott VOICE, Ian Stones will retire at the end of the current season.
This decision has been thoughtfully considered and planned, reflecting Ian’s meticulous approach to his work across his time with HPG. While his insight and steady leadership will be sorely missed, he leaves behind both a legacy of excellence and his mark on many carefully crafted, enduring careers, including those of Andreas Scholl, Jamie Barton, Susan Bullock and Karita Mattila, amongst many others. Jasper Parrott says, “I owe a very special thanks to Ian, who has been a most loyal and effective manager of our work with singers ever since he joined us in 1994. Through the decades, Ian has been a highly valued colleague, always steadfast in his support for the artists and the company’s wider ambitions. With his huge knowledge of music, Ian has contributed vastly to the growth of our fine international standing and reputation, in support of Shirley’s leadership. I wish him all the best for a peaceful but no doubt active retirement with lots of time for his many interests and enthusiasms through the creative arts.”
Shirley and the VOICE team are grateful to still have time to celebrate Ian’s many contributions and achievements over these coming months with plans afoot to mark his retirement with a raised glass or two, “It’s the end of an era, and a sad day for the VOICE team who will miss Ian’s insight, knowledge, wit and occasional mischief. It’s the closure of this chapter with Ian at the heart of the team, but he will remain a friend and will doubtlessly be popping up at performances and social events as we advance”.
The VOICE team has worked closely to ensure a smooth and seamless transition, but for now, we extend our immense thanks to Ian for his dedication, professionalism, and the lasting impact of his three-decade contribution to HPG’s successes.
