
Reykjavik Arts Festival announces Hildur Guðnadóttir as Artist-in-Residence for 2026

From 4 to 7 June, the festival will celebrate Hildur Guðnadóttir remarkable career with three unique events, each highlighting different facets of her groundbreaking music and artistic journey.
Guðnadóttir will present her new work Where To From at Harpa’s Silfurberg venue. Co commissioners for the project include Reykjavík Arts Festival, Barbican Centre, and other high level commissioners, to be announced shortly.
Guðnadóttir has curated a programme at Eldborg Hall with Iceland Symphony Orchestra conducted by Daníel Bjarnason, where she will narrate her works and talk about her artistic influences. Music from the films Joker, Tár, and Haunting in Venice will be performed, alongside works by composers such as Arvo Pärt, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Kaija Saariaho.
There will be a concert with Hallgrímskirkja Choir in the stunning Hallgrímskirkja with a Q&A.
