Ksenija Sidorova is Artist-in-Residence at BodenseeFestival 2025
19/5/2025
As part of her residency, Ksenija Sidorova presents a total of eight concerts — two orchestral concerts and six chamber concerts — in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Sidorova says:“The theme of this year’s festival — freedom — resonates deeply with the accordion and with my own journey as an artist. The accordion, once confined to the clichés of traditional music, had to break free in order to gain serious recognition. This transformation largely occurred over the past 60 years, driven by the creation of of original repertoire for this instrument. My quest for freedom continues with every new programme I present, and the versatility of the accordion allows me to explore music across different centuries, from the classical to the contemporary, and above all to collaborate with living composers — a mission that remains central to my work.
I’m excited to join my friends in presenting a series of programmes inspired by different forms of freedom: freedom of breath, movement, spirituality, creativity, and expression. In a world that often makes us feel freer than we really are, this opportunity is especially meaningful. True freedom lights the path toward our own reality and enlightenment. I look forward to sharing this journey with you, discovering how music can transcend borders and speak the unspoken.”
