
Behzod Abduraimov is Artist in Residence at Zaubersee Festival

Behzod Abduraimov is the Zaubersee Festival’s first Artist in Residence. In this role, Behzod performs three concerts showcasing a varied programme:
On 31 May, at the Hotel Schweizerhof, Behzod reunites with Truls Mørk and they are joined by Ilya Gringolts for a chamber music programme including Prokofiev’s Sonata for Cello and Piano in C major, Rachmaninov’s Trio élégiaque and Arensky’s Piano Trio No.1.
For the Gala concert at KKL Luzern on 2 June, Behzod performs Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2 with Luzerner Sinfonieorchester under the baton of James Gaffigan. The rest of the programme includes Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances, Tchaikovsky’s Fantasy-Overture “Romeo and Juliet” and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio espagnol.
For the Closing Concert on 3 June, Behzod collaborates with Stanislav Loudenitch for the Arensky’ Suite for 2 Pianos No.1 and Rachmaninov’s Suite for 2 Pianos No.1. In the second part of the concert, Behzod performs Prokofiev’s 10 Pieces from Romeo and Juliet, with the story complimented by two esteemed ballet dancers: Matthew Golding and Natalia Matsak.
