A change of pace for Stephen Milling with Verdi in Strasbourg
10/6/2016
Stephen Milling joins Opéra national du Rhin as Philippe II in Robert Carsen’s new production of Verdi’s Don Carlo. Conducted by Daniele Callegari, performances run from 17 June to 10 July.
One of today’s most highly-regarded basses, Stephen Milling has just finished an acclaimed run of Wagner’s Tannhäuser at Royal Opera House, and goes onwards to the Bayreuther Festspiele to reprise his success as Hagen (Götterdämmerung). Next season sees a return to Covent Garden in their new production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg conducted by Music Director Sir Antonio Pappano, and Gurnemanz (Parsifal) at Deutsche Oper Berlin under Donald Runnicles.
