Christopher Ventris returns to the London stage in Der Freischütz with Sir Mark Elder

Fresh from performances as Siegmund (Die Walküre) in Francesca Zambello’s Ring Cycles at Washington National Opera, Christopher Ventris joins the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment as Max in Carl Maria von Weber’s Der Freischütz on 7 June.
The performance, which marks the orchestra’s 30th birthday, takes place at London’s Royal Festival Hall and is directed by David Pountney and conducted by Sir Mark Elder.
One of Britain’s most celebrated tenors, Christopher Ventris has a busy season ahead with a return to the Bayreuther Festspiele in Die Walküreas well as new productions of Der Freischütz for Opernhaus Zürich and Parsifal for Wiener Staatsoper.
