25/9/2015

Kirill Karabits kicks off his seventh year with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra conducting concert performances of Strauss’ Salome with internationally-acclaimed British tenor Kim Begley as Herod.
Performances take place at the Lighthouse, Poole, and Birmingham Symphony Hall on 30 September and 2 October and mark the first time Karabits has conducted an opera in concert with the orchestra.
A seasoned Herod, having sung the role at The Metropolitan Opera, in Baden-Baden and on several DVD recordings, Kim Begley remains in high demand for roles such as Loge (Das Rheingold), Aegisth (Elektra) and Selim (A Rake’s Progress) and debuts as Fatty (Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny) later this season at Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile.
