Four of HarrisonParrott’s younger artists are competing in Plácido Domingo’s Operalia, which for the first time has its final in London.
Australian soprano Lauren Fagan, Irish mezzo-soprano Rachel Kelly, New Zealand tenor Pene Pati and American baritone Tobias Greenhalgh have all reached the quarter-finals and are competing this week. The final, which is broadcast live on medici.tv, takes place at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden on 19 July, and the finalists perform under the baton of Plácido Domingo.
As members of the Royal Opera House’s Jette Parker Young Artists Programme, Lauren and Rachel also appear on stage on 18 July in the annual summer performance. The showcase includes excerpts from Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, Simon Boccanegra, Adriana Lecouvreur, Les pêcheurs de perles, La damnation de Faust and Roméo et Juliette.
