Lisa Batiashvili performs Sibelius’ Violin Concerto with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Esa-Pekka Salonen in an all-Finnish programme at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The 26 June concert also features Sibelius’ Symphony No.2 and the UK premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s Earth’s Shadows.

Batiashvili and Salonen have worked together regularly, including Deutsche Grammophon’s recording Echoes of Time, featuring Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No.1 alongside music by Rachmaninov, Pärt and Kancheli.

Her latest Deutsche Grammophon disc – Concertos and Sonatas by Bach – is due to be released in August.
