1/6/2014
Akiko Suwanai appears with The Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, performing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto at Suntory Hall, Tokyo, on 2 June.
In addition to recent performances of other works at the heart of the violin repertoire, including the Mendelssohn and Sibelius Concerti, Suwanai has also been expanding her contemporary repertoire. This summer, she performs Peter Eotvos’ Doremi in Hungary and is soloist in Esa-Pekka Salonen’s Violin Concerto at the Helsinki Festival, with the Finnish National Opera Symphony Orchestra conducted by the composer.
