Anne Sofie von Otter returns to the Lyric Opera of Chicago in Capriccio under Sir Andrew Davis
3/2/2014
A superlative interpreter of Strauss, Anne Sofie von Otter makes a highly-anticipated return to the Lyric Opera of Chicago as Clairon in John Cox’s production of Capriccio. Conducted by the Lyric Opera’s Music Director and Principal Conductor, Sir Andrew Davis, performances of Strauss’ final and most sophisticated opera open on 6 October.
With a busy concert schedule that takes her to all corners of the globe, Anne Sofie also returns to the opera stage later this season for performances as Leocadia Begbick (The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny) at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden under Mark Wigglesworth, and Waltraute (Götterdämmerung) at the Wiener Staatsoper under Sir Simon Rattle.
