Martin Grubinger debuts with Washington’s National Symphony Orchestra
20/1/2014
Martin Grubinger makes his debut with Washington’s National Symphony Orchestra, performing Avner Dorman’s Percussion Concerto, Frozen in Time, at Kennedy Center on 23 & 25 January. The concerts, conducted by Christoph Eschenbach, also feature Mozart’s Symphony No.35 and Dvořák’s Symphony No.9.
Martin continues his current US appearances the following week, with a return to the Kansas City Symphony on 31 January and 1 & 2 February. He is soloist in John Corigliano’s The Conjurer for percussion and orchestra – a work he performed to great acclaim earlier this season, while on tour in Europe with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his concerto appearance with the orchestra, Martin also gives a recital with the percussionists of Kansas City Symphony on 29 January.
