NOAH MAX PIANO SONATA PREMIERES AT CARNEGIE HALL
9/5/2025
Noah Max’s Piano Sonata No.2 The Curve premieres on 13 May with Alexandra Balog at Carnegie Hall. The concert is presented by Liszt Institute New York and Altalena Artists Collective, and Balog’s programme “Exploring Inner Landscapes” explores themes of introspection and self-discovery.
Max comments, “While I was writing The Curve I was certain that I knew what it was about. Once I was done writing it, I was no longer sure. One year on and I think it’s about something completely different, though I’m not certain about that either. Perhaps all that speaks to the piece’s true content. Change, the arc of time, the gravity of time. The curvature that makes existence worthwhile.” The work has been kindly supported by The Marchus Trust.
