Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra celebrate their 175th anniversary with a debut tour of Japan

19 January 2015

This month the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Chief Conductor Vasily Petrenko, embark upon their debut tour of Japan to celebrate their 175th anniversary.

Joining the orchestra throughout the eight-concert tour is pianist Nobu, who performs the same repertoire that he played at concerts with the orchestra in Liverpool last November - Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.3 and Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No.3.

The tour, opening on 22 January, takes in various venues across Japan, including the Suntory Hall Tokyo, Yokohama Minato Mirai Concert Hall and Osaka Festival Hall. The orchestra perform a programme of Russian repertoire - highlighting their successful relationship with this music under Vasily Petrenko - and features Shostakovich’s Symphony No.10 and Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring.

HarrisonParrott are delighted to have managed the tour.
