Lawrence Renes debuts in São Paulo
Making his debut with Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo this week, Lawrence Renes conducts Leonard Bernstein’s Symphony No. 2, The Age of Anxiety and John Adams’s Harmonielehre on 27, 28 & 29 September.
The following week, Renes also steps in for the indisposed Jaap van Zweden with the same orchestra in a programme featuring Mozart’s Piano Concerto in G major, K. 453 with Maria João Pires and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 8. Taking place on 4-6 October, the concerts will also be broadcast on Brazilian television.
These performances follow on from his inaugural engagements with Royal Swedish Opera as their new Music Director. Soon after, Renes makes his debut with Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg and returns to the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
