Camilla Tilling returns to Wigmore Hall for a solo recital
10/7/2015
This week Swedish soprano Camilla Tilling returns to Wigmore Hall to give a solo recital with her regular recital partner, Paul Rivinius. She performs a programme of Linde, Stenhammar, Sibelius, Mahler and Strauss on 17 July.
Tilling has recorded two recital discs with Rivinius in recent years: a Schubert disc Bei dir allein! in 2012 – where Tilling was described as having an “enchanting soprano voice and acute musical intelligence” by International Record Review – and her solo debut album, Rote Rosen in 2009 – for which she was described as an outstanding interpreter of Strauss’s songs by The Sunday Times.
Having previously given recitals at Wigmore Hall in their BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime Series, next season Camilla appears at Melbourne Recital Centre and Stockholm Concert Hall. She also embarks on a recital tour of Japan and South Korea with fellow Swede, mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter, presenting repertoire inspired by the Swedish Nightingale, Jenny Lind, to include Lindblad, Grieg, Meyerbeer, Massenet, Fauré and Strauss.
