BIOGRAPHY
Conductor, soloist, chamber musician, and pedagogue - Christoph Poppen has become a highly-respected figure in European music, winning many awards.
This season include concerts with the Orchestra Svizzera Italiana, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of India, Orchestra della Toscana, Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali, Singapore Symphony Orchestra and the Kölner Kammerorchester. He will also return to the Wiener Symphoniker to conduct their traditional New Year’s Eve Concert at the Wiener Konzerthaus, and conducts a new production of Gluck’s Iphigénie en Aulide at Staatsoper Stuttgart.
A frequent guest with various orchestras he has appeared with the Bamberger Symphoniker, the Deutsches Sinfonie-Orchester Berlin, NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, Staatskapelle Dresden, Rotterdam Philharmonic, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Singapore Symphony, Detroit and Indianapolis symphony orchestras as well as the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Camerata Salzburg.
