In a unique cross-Atlantic collaboration, the innovative and Grammy award-winning mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter joins forces with the trailblazing and critically acclaimed string quartet Brooklyn Rider to present a new eclectic musical project which features music from iconic artists across both the classical and pop music worlds.
Drawing from their upcoming album ‘So Many Things’ on Naïve Records, Anne Sofie and Brooklyn Rider together present new works written for them by Nico Muhly, Pulitzer Prize winner Caroline Shaw, and the quartet’s own Colin Jacobsen. The album also features luminescent arrangements of music by John Adams, Elvis Costello, Brad Mehldau, Rufus Wainwright, Sting, Bjork and more, as well as works from Brooklyn Rider’s recent project ‘Almanac’ — “an all-over-the-map stylistic tour and a treatise on present-day quartet writing” (The Boston Globe).
