Francesco Tristano signs exclusively to Sony Classical
Francesco Tristano and Sony Classical have announced an exclusive recording collaboration.
A genre-defying musician who is as acclaimed for his “impressively assured” (The Guardian) classical performances as for his underground and electronic sets, Francesco’s debut record with Sony Classical, Piano Circle Songs, is set for release in September 2017.
The debut album will feature the award-winning Chilly Gonzales and premiere at the Funkhaus Berlin on 7 September. Further launch events will take place in London, Paris, Hamburg and Frankfurt to name a few, and there will also be an orchestral version of the project.
Commenting on the announcement Per Hauber, Managing Director, Sony Classical International, said: “Francesco Tristano is a truly unique artist who breaks down the borders of musical genres. Our new collaboration starts at a time where new ways of music consumption will allow his music to travel even further beyond musical frontiers and reach a global audience. We are proud to have Francesco on the label and are looking forward to a fruitful association in the years ahead.”
Other forthcoming performance highlights for Francesco include Dresden Musikfestspiele, Rheingau Music Festival, Orchestre national de Lille and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
