Overview

HarrisonParrott is proud to represent Kodo and to have arranged tours for this internationally renowned group of drummers since 1996. Based on Sado Island in northern Japan, Kodo made their debut at the Berlin Festival in 1981 and have been dazzling audiences worldwide since then. The ensemble strive to both preserve and reinterpret traditional Japanese performing arts in a spectacular theatrical show which encompasses everything from energetic physically-charged ensemble drumming to smaller groups and soloists featuring a variety of authentic percussion instruments as well as flute, shamisen and dance.

Since 2000, HarrisonParrott has organized the following tours for Kodo: a tour of the UK / Eire consisting of 19 concerts as well as a concert in Helsinki in 2010; a tour of Europe including concerts in Zagreb, Istanbul, Izmir, London and Paris in 2009; two concerts in Buenos Aires as part of their tour to South America in 2008 as well as a tour of the UK/Eire of nine concerts in the same year; a 13-concert tour of the UK/Eire in 2006; a tour of the UK/Eire consisting of seven concerts including a four-date, sold out residency at the Royal Festival Hall in 2004; a four-concert tour of Estonia and Finland in 2001; and a tour of the UK/Eire consisting of 11 concerts including a five-date residency at the Barbican in 2000.
