OVERVIEW
The Aram Khachaturian International Competition is an elite musical competition based in Armenia and named after the country's most famous composer.
Awarding prizes since 2006, the competition takes place in June and awards all finalists a $2000 grant and diploma, with the gold medal awarding $15,000 and a laureate diploma. The programme aims to both encourage young talent and promote Khachaturian and his music; in later stages of the competition, entrants are asked to perform the composer's concerto works.
