Upcoming tours

August brings the final stage of The Australian Youth Orchestra’s epic three-continent tour (Australia, China and Europe) culminating in a concert at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, while The Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen also round off their transatlantic tour with concerts in Canada’s Lanaudière Festival and New York’s Mostly Mozart Festival at the Lincoln Center having had such a huge success at the BBC Proms.

With the European festival season in full swing, the Edinburgh International Festival welcomes the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra with Sakari Oramo, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra with Mariss Jansons, and the Minnesota Orchestra with Osmo Vänskä. Prior to their Edinburgh visit, the Minnesota Orchestra will be one of the few orchestras to give two concerts at this year’s BBC Proms, appearing with violinist Lisa Batiashvili.

Elsewhere the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra perform with their Chief Conductor Vasily Petrenko at the Festival Internacional de Santander in Spain; and the Sydney Symphony and their Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor Vladimir Ashkenazy arrive in Europe for a major and prestigious tour of the summer festivals encompassing the BBC Proms, Lucerne, Edinburgh, Rheingau, Stresa, Bremen, Amsterdam and Grafenegg, and featuring soloists Hélène Grimaud, Behzod Abduraimov and Daniele Petralia.
