Simdi Now fascinated audiences throughout Berlin in August and September of 2004. HarrisonParrott worked alongside the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts and Werkstatt der Kulturen in Berlin to produce the festival, which was described as "an expedition through time and space: from pop to piano concerts, from world msuic to new music, from traditional to contemporary art and from Turkey's rich past to its dynamic, modern present".
There were more than 40 productions at 20 venues in Berlin, with concerts, exhibitions, dance evenings, comedy shows, readings, and films. The festival's wide range reflected the distinguishing element of Turkish culture, which is and has always been the lively and constant interaction between its western and eastern cultures.
