Since the appointment of Sakari Oramo as Chief Conductor of the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra in August 2003, HarrisonParrott has been intrinsic in formulating an international touring strategy to enhance the reputation and standing of this fine orchestra.
With a distinguished history stretching back to 1923 and featuring eminent figures such as Sibelius, Stravinsky and Hindemith as past conductors, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra continues to perform at the highest level on the international stage. This season the orchestra has undertaken a comprehensive Japanese tour, and looks forward to a busy schedule of performances at major European festivals and concert halls in the coming seasons.
