The Danish National Symphony Orchestra is Denmark's premiere orchestra and one of the world's oldest radio symphony orchestras. It was founded in 1925 and celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2000. From August 2004 Thomas Dausgaard, former principal guest conductor, joined the orchestra as the first Danish principal conductor ever. German conductor Gerd Albrecht was the orchestra's principal conductor from 2000-2004 at which time HarrisonParrott arranged the Orchestra's first ever tour to South America in May/June 2003. This included performances at the wonderful Sala Sao Paolo in Brazil and Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires.
