The partnership between the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Paavo Järvi which began in the 2001/02 season goes from strength to strength. Their recordings for Telarc have received enormous critical acclaim and together they are enjoying an increased presence and profile on the world stage. This success is particularly due to a major tour of Japan in November 2003, and an 11 concert, five country tour of Europe in November 2004 that featured French pianist Hélène Grimaud and included performances in Vienna, Paris, Frankfurt, Madrid and Barcelona. They have plans to return to Europe in Spring 2008.
