The Voice of Bulgaria. Celebrating their 70th anniversary in 2005, Bulgarian National Radio is justifiably proud of their big symphony orchestra, big band, folk music band, big mixed choir, children's vocal group, and children's choir.
The symphony orchestra, conducted by Rossen Milanov, has taken part all Bulgarian forums and festivals over the years. It has also been involved, since 2002, jointly with Classic FM Radio, in the production of thematic concert series in the capital city of Sofia.
The abundant repertoire of the BNR Mixed Choir comprises works from all epochs. The Choir has intensively sought to introduce choral and cantata-oratorio pieces that are not so well known in Bulgaria, as well has having taken part in high-profile projects both at home and abroad.
Plans are underway for a first major tour of Europe for the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Rossen Milanov (currently Assistant Conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra) to coincide with Bulgaria's entry into the European Union.
