Benjamin Schmid undertakes extensive tour of Brazil
Benjamin Schmid embarks on an extensive tour of Brazil, beginning in Brasilia with a solo recital at the Austrian Embassy on 16 September, and a performance of Korngold’s Violin Concerto with the Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Nacional Claudio Santoro and conductor Cláudio Cohen on 17 September. Schmid then gives performances of Brahms’ Violin Concerto at the Sala São Paulo with Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo and conductor Yan Pascal Tortelier (19, 20 & 21 September), as well as with Orquestra Filarmônica de Goiás in Goiânia under the baton of Alessandro Borgomanero (24 & 25 September). Finally, he performs Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira and conductor Roberto Duarte in Rio de Janeiro on 28 September.
In São Paulo Schmid also performs Brahms’ Violin Sonatas with Dejan Lazić, in a recital on 22 September.
