City Lights
‘City Lights‘ — a special project curated by Lisa Batiashvili — is a diverse collection of music inspired by the cities with which Lisa has a deep connection. From Tbilisi to Los Angeles, Paris to Buenos Aires, Lisa has chosen cities that that are close to her heart — be it through her personal musical journey, family and friends, or her own life history – all of which represent a childhood dream of travelling the world and sharing beautiful music.
The name ‘City Lights’ is not only inspired by the Chaplin film of the same name, but speaks of the unique skylines of each city. Lisa hopes to represent this image with abstract projections and lights during live performances where possible.
The tour will be supported by a recording with which it shares repertoire, most of which has been specially arranged for this project.
This is truly a personal project for Lisa, and her passion for culture, collaboration and cross-genre music is positively palpable. It will bring her to the audience in a way she has never been presented before.
Nikoloz Rachveli, the Chief Conductor of the Georgian Philharmonia orchestra, who has made most of the musical arrangements, will conduct Camerata Salzburg on this tour.
