Metropolitan Opera debut as Pamina for Golda Schultz

22 September 2017

This week, Golda Schultz makes her highly anticipated debut at the Metropolitan Opera as Pamina in Julie Taymor’s production of Die Zauberflöte under James Levine, opening 27 September.

An alumnus of New York’s Juilliard School and with a European career already in full flow, this debut comes shortly after last season’s appearance with National Symphony Orchestra, Washington singing Mahler’s Symphony No.2 under Christoph Eschenbach.  Schultz returns to North America in early 2018 for Haydn’s Die Jahreszeiten with The Cleveland Orchestra and Franz Welser-Möst, at both the Orchestra’s Severance Hall and Carnegie Hall, with the current season also including her debut at the New National Theatre Tokyo as Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), and commitments to her home house, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, as Micaela (Carmen), Freia (Das Rheingold) and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte).
