Claudia Boyle sings Violetta in Klagenfurt and London
Opening her 2017/18 season, Claudia Boyle sings two new productions of La traviata: firstly for Stadttheater Klagenfurt from 14 September, conducted by Giedrė Šlekytė and directed by Richard Brunel, then for her return to English National Opera from 16 March in Daniel Kramer’s new staging under Leo McFall.
With repertoire including Adina (L’elisir d’amore) with which she made her debut at Semperoper Dresden, and Gilda (Rigoletto) for Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Claudia has also appeared at Opernhaus Zürich, the Edinburgh International Festival, and with the Royal Opera House in a number of contemporary works, such as Gerald Barry’s The Importance of Being Earnest and Alice’s Adventures Under Ground.
Following her debut at ENO as Mabel in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, Claudia has since returned as Leïla (The Pearl Fishers), and will join ENO for Iain Bell’s new commission, Jack the Ripper. Elsewhere this season, Claudia makes her debut with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra singing Carmina Burana, and joins Orchestre national de Lyon and Leonard Slatkin for Beethoven’s Symphony No.9.
