Xian Zhang debuts with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra

24 March 2010

Xian Zhang made her debut with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in March this year. In addition to concerts featuring works by Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Richard Strauss, and the Dutch premiere of Thomas Adès’ Powder Her Face Suite, she led the orchestra’s principals in a performance of Schoenberg’s arrangement of Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde in the Muziekgebouw. In April she’ll return to the Lincoln Center to conduct Sibelius’ Second Symphony and the world premiere of Augusta Read Thomas’s Jubilee with the Julliard Orchestra.
