Santtu-Matias Rouvali returns to the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France
Following his success last season with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Santtu-Matias Rouvali returns to conduct the orchestra in two concerts at the Festival Radio France & Montpellier Languedoc-Roussillon.
Rouvali’s first concert on 18 July is an evening of music by Ravel including Trois Poémes de Stéphane Mallarmé (featuring bass-baritone Laurent Nauroi), Valses nobles et sentimentales and Daphnis et Chloé Suite No.2.
On 19 July, Rouvali is joined by soloist Renaud Capuçon who performs Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No.1 and Dina Kuznetsova, Zach Borichevsky and Juha Uusitalo in Rachmaninov’s, The Bells. Additionally Borichevsky is soloist in Prokofiev’s cantata Seven, They are Seven.
Rouvali's engagements next season include debuts with the BBC and Vienna symphony orchestras; he also returns to the Finnish Radio Symphony, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic orchestras.
