We are delighted to announce a quartet of fresh young talent, joining the HarrisonParrott Vocal Roster.
American tenor Jack Swanson is making his name known in the high lyric repertoire with productions of Don Giovanni, L’elisir d’amore and Il barbiere di Siviglia already under his belt. A former Santa Fe Apprentice, and twice awarded the Richard Tucker Memorial award from Santa Fe Opera, Swanson recently debuted as Fenton in Falstaff for Des Moines Metro Opera and joins Glyndebourne on Tour for Il barbiere di Siviglia in 17/18. HP collaborates with CAMI’s Michael Benchetrit on Jack’s worldwide management.
Former member of the young ensemble of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Anglo-Swiss soprano Kim-Lillian Strebel is presently a member of the ensemble of Theater Freiburg, where her roles this season include the title role in a new production of Massenet’s Cendrillon and Fiordiligi. She recently made her debut at the Komische Oper Berlin as Lauretta in Calixto Bieito’s production of Gianni Schicchi and further debuts include Pamina in Barrie Kosky’s Die Zauberflöte for Cincinnati Opera and Faure’s Requiem under Donald Runnicles with Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
British mezzo-soprano Katie Stevenson is “A fruity force to be reckoned with” (Opera Magazine) and was the surprise recipient of all three prizes at the 2015 Wagner Society Singing Competition. Already gaining attention in the UK through her charismatic performances whilst at the Royal Academy of Music, Stevenson also recently won the 2016 Marjorie Thomas Art of Song prize. Now embarking on her final year at London’s RAM, Katie makes her BBC Proms debut this weekend in Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music, conducted by Sakari Oramo, and marking the Last Night of the Prom.
Also a final year student at London’s Royal Academy of Music, baritone Alex Otterburn has recently gained note as a participant of this year’s prestigious Georg Solti Academia, and was awarded a bursary by the International Opera Awards. Recently debuting as Schaunard with the Lyric Opera of Dublin and RTÉ Concert Orchestra, further experience includes Curio (Giulio Cesare) under Michael Chance at the Concertgebouw and in Peter Grimes at Grange Park Opera. This season, Otterburn sings his first Guglielmo at Bury Court Opera.
