Michael Barenboim at Pierre Boulez Saal opening concerts

24 February 2017

Michael Barenboim takes part in the opening concerts of the new the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin on 4 & 5 March.

Performing as part of the Boulez Ensemble, Michael performs Mozart’s Piano Quartet in E-flat Major K. 493 and Berg’s Concerto for Piano, Violin & 13 Wind Instruments under the baton of Daniel Barenboim. The performances will be widely covered in the media and broadcast live across Germany and internationally.

The concerts mark the start of a close relationship between Boulez Saal, Michael and the Ensemble; Michael gives a solo recital at the hall in May with a programme featuring works by J.S. Bach, Bartók and Pierre Boulez and will appear with the Ensemble at the Vienna Konzerthaus. Other highlights of this season include his debut with Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, as well as returns to Komische Oper Berlin and Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice.
