Juha Uusitalo returns to Berlin for Beethoven’s Symphony No.9
Juha Uusitalo joins the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin and Marek Janowski for Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 on 30 & 31 December, following acclaimed performances of the same work with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra under Sakari Oramo last week.
Having built a major reputation over the past decade as one of the world’s finest Wagnerians, Juha Uusitalo spends much of his season now on the concert platform. Recent highlights include Oedipus Rex with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Sakari Oramo at the BBC Proms, Pulcinella with the San Francisco Symphony under Michael Tilson Thomas and Zemlinsky’s Lyric Symphony with the Philharmonia Orchestra under Esa-Pekka Salonen. In the New Year, Uusitalo returns to the Wiener Staatsoper as Jochanaan (Salome) conducted by Simone Young.
