HarrisonParrott signs soprano Gun-Brit Barkmin

1 February 2016

HarrisonParrott is delighted to welcome soprano Gun-Brit Barkmin for worldwide management.
Berlin-based soprano Gun-Brit Barkmin has built her reputation on portrayals of leading ladies including Salome, Chrysothemis (Elektra), Marie (Wozzeck), Ariadne (Ariadne auf Naxos), Jenůfa and Katerina Ismailova (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk).
A former member of Komische Oper Berlin’s ensemble, Gun-Brit now enjoys a busy freelance career regularly appearing in major theatres in Europe, North America and further afield. Recent performances of Elektra with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under Andris Nelsons in Boston and at Carnegie Hall were particularly well received, as were concert performances of Salome in Tokyo with the NHK Symphony Orchestra and Charles Dutoit. Her experience extends to contemporary projects and she has gained attention for recent roles in both Sotelo’s El Público and Birtwistle’s Gawain.
