Christopher Ventris returns to Washington as Siegmund
British tenor Christopher Ventris sings Siegmund in Washington National Opera’s new Ring Cycle production by the company’s Artistic Director Francesca Zambello. Conducted by Music Director Philippe Auguin, Christopher performs on 2, 11 & 18 May.
One of his most frequently performed roles, Ventris’ Siegmund has graced the stages of Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam and Vienna and most recently marked his debut at Semperoper Dresden under Christian Thielemann. This summer will see his return to the Bayreuther Festspiele in Die Walküre under Marek Janowski. Next season will bring a new production of Der Freischütz in Zürich under Marc Albrecht and a new production of Parsifal in Vienna with Semyon Bychkov.
