Paul Appleby makes his Wigmore Hall debut
26/2/2016
American tenor Paul Appleby debuts this week at London’s Wigmore Hall in a recital programme of Schumann, Wolf, Bridge and Berlioz together with Malcolm Martineau on 4 March. The performance is followed by further presentations of the same programme in North America, including the Celebrity Series in Boston and at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
Always keen to balance his busy operatic diary with concert and recital appearances, Paul Appleby appears this season with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New World Symphony and Bamberger Symphoniker in diverse repertoire including Mozart’s Requiem, Dream of Gerontius and Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings. Elsewhere he will return to The Metropolitan Opera as Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) and Glyndebourne this summer in Berlioz’s Béatrice et Bénédict.
