Following her work for him with the London Symphony Orchestra, Elim Chan has been invited by Valeriy Gergiev to conduct the Mariinsky Orchestra in St. Petersburg and on tour in Mexico. 

On 17 February Elim leads the orchestra in a programme of Shostakovich’s Festive Overture and Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.2 (with soloist Miroslav Kultyshev) and Symphony No.2 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.

Elim then conducts the orchestra again on 1 and 2 March in the Palacio des Bellas Artes in Mexico with soloist Behzod Abduraimov, when Shostakovich’s Symphony No.5 is also on the programme.
