Anne Sofie von Otter performs Mahler, Purcell, Pärt and Paul Simon in the US

This week, Anne Sofie von Otter appears with Washington’s National Symphony Orchestra for performances of Mahler’s Symphony No.3 on 5, 6 & 7 November under the orchestra’s Music Director, Christoph Eschenbach.
This is followed by a US tour performing an intimate programme of Baroque repertoire from the English, Italian and French traditions, including songs by Dowland, Purcell, Provenzale and Lambert as well as some modern twists from Pärt and Paul Simon.
Accompanied by Thomas Dunford on archlute and Jonathan Cohen on harpsichord and chamber organ, the trio appear at the Boston Early Music Festival at Paine Hall, Harvard University (9 November), the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Philadelphia (11 November), The Frick Collection, New York (13 November), The Maestro Foundation, Santa Monica (15 November), and conclude the tour in Washington at The Library of Congress (17 November).
