Zazzo and Christy perform in Giulio Cesare at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw

Having performed the roles together at English National Opera, countertenor Lawrence Zazzo and soprano Anna Christy reprise the roles of Giulio Cesare and Cleopatra respectively at Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw in a concert performance of Giulio Cesare under Michael Chance on 12 April.
An acclaimed artist in the baroque repertoire, Zazzo has had particular professional success as Giulio Cesare having also performed the role at The Metropolitan Opera, La Monnaie and Opéra national de Paris. Following recent performances as Athamas in Handel’s Semele for Canadian Opera Company in guest appearances at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), New York, Lawrence will reprise this role in concert performances with Concerto Köln before returning to the operatic stage this summer as Oberon (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) at Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.
