Catherine Naglestad returns to the Wiener Staatsoper as Salome

Catherine Naglestad returns to the Wiener Staatsoper this week to perform the title role in Strauss’ Salome. Conducted by Simone Young, the production opens on 15 January.
American soprano Catherine Naglestad continues to build an increasingly strong reputation as one of today’s leading dramatic forces with recent highly praised productions of Siegfried, Der fliegende Holländer, Lohengrin and La fanciulla del West. Already boasting a diverse repertoire, Naglestad continues to expand her portfolio of roles in the next seasons to include Les Troyens, Cavalleria rusticana and Schreker’s Die Gezeichneten.
