10/11/2014
Jörg Widmann performs Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No.1 with Bamberger Symphoniker at two concerts in Bamberg (16 November) and Erlangen (17 November) with conductor Manfred Honeck. The programme also features two of Widmann’s compositions Con brio and Fantasie.
As a continuation of his close relationship with the orchestra, who premiered his Lied in 2003, Widmann is currently their Composer-in-Residence. As part of the residency the orchestra recently performed his Violin Concerto with soloist Alina Pogostkina at their 2014/15 season opening concert in September.
Later this season the orchestra performs two further works by Widmann: Lied under the baton of Michael Sanderling in three concerts (12 – 14 December) and Messe with conductor Karl-Heinz Steffens in two concerts in (6 – 7 May).
